"Don't think about her as something to turn into." Swifteyes replied encouragingly. "Think of her as something not to turn into. Make her into more of an example of something you shouldn't be rather than a scary memory." She wasn't sure if Thornkit would understand what she said. "But I think your personality would work out with being a mentor. You don't really realize it but you can be very kind. Well, it'll be a long time until you become a warrior let alone a mentor. For now I think it's best to just be patient."

Molepaw sighed, and padded away from the tom. It seemed as if everyone shunned her, her mother, her father, her sister, her clan. Maybe I should run away to another clan, or turn into a loner. Or maybe I should just kill myself and be with my mom and our warrior ancestors. she thought, and went back to the apprentice's den. She laid down on her stomach, and sighed. She was a reject. An outcast.
The orange she-cat smiled to herself when she saw her sister go back into the apprentice's den. No one likes Molepaw. She's weird, she's dumb, and she's all alone. I can't believe mom and dad didn't abandon her when she was born. she thought.

((Aww, Molepaw and Thornkit both have problems with self-esteem.))
Thornkit looked a bit confused. How could he not think of turning into his mother? What Swifteyes said next confused the kit even more. What did all of that mean? "I guess I have some of my dad's personality too." he murmered, feeling a bit better at the thought of being like his father. "I just hope you are right. And thanks, you made my day being nice to me." he smiled now, feeling alot better about himself. "Patience is hard, especially since I am tired of being stuck in the nursery."

ooc; How old is Thornkit? Is he going to be apprenticed soon? bic; Gingerpaw had a nasty idea, and followed her sister into the apprentice's den. "Hey Moley, what's wrong?" she jeered. The apprentice's tail was high with pride. Molepaw said nothing, but she tensed a little and unsheathed her claws. Her sister did the same, but still stalked around her in circles. "Getting tense, eh, sissy?" she mewed. "Get out of here before I..." the brown she-cat paused, and thought for a moment. She had never thought of killing her sister before... "What? Before you dig another hole?" "SHUT UP!" Molepaw hissed, and flung herself at the orange cat. She pinned her down and bared her teeth in her sister's face. "Shut up, before I rip you apart."

"Just because one cat was mean to you doesn't mean all cats will be." Swifteyes continued. "If you're cheery and nice you'll make a lot of friends fast. It's nice to think of being like someone you admire, but you shouldn't try to act like a certain cat. You should just be you, Thornkit. Be how you want to be. Treat others the way you want to treat them. You're getting big for the nursery, I'm sure Shadedstar will have your ceremony soon. Maybe even today." She smiled at Thornkit. She knew he'd grow into a fine young tom, and an excellent warrior of ShadowClan.
Brokenfang stared aimlessly into the camp, detached from the world around him. Conversations were springing up everywhere. Everyone seemed happy today, like they felt everyday. All has been peaceful with ShadowClan, nothing for them to worry about.

((Thornkit is six moons, and I hope he will be an apprentice soon. *glares at Nightwood*))
What Swifteyes was saying made more and more sense to Thornkit as he thought about it. At least he no longer was bitter to other cats like his mother. He smiled as he listened to the she-cat. "You are right, I really don't need to keep sulking, but it is hard, especially when I think about my mother, and how she didn't want me. It is hard to not think about that. How would you feel if your mother didn't want you?" saying this made tears come to the little tom's eyes. In a matter of moments the tears were gone from his eyes. "You really think I could be an apprentice today?" he asked.

"Just don't think about her then. I know it would hurt if my mother didn't want me. I'll admit that I wish I was closer to her. I feel guilty for getting over her death so quickly. I've lost plenty of cats close to me, but I know life goes on. There's no point in dwelling on the past." Swifteyes never thought of herself as a motivational speaker, but she knew her words were helping Thornkit. "Other people will love you. You'll make enemies, you'll make friends. It happens. You can grow up to be a wonderful warrior that ShadowClan will be proud of. You just have to stop putting yourself down or making yourself sad. You are the proper age to become an apprentice. Your ceremony might not be today but I'm positive it'll be soon." Swifteyes put on her best smile, to assure Thornkit of her confidence. ))You can drop Nightwood a PM if you like.((

But now it's too boring... thought Shardkit to himself, walking out of the nursery with a last glance at his mother. Things just never really are right. He looked over at Swifteyes and Thornkit. Talking, talking... always talking. It was always talking, wasn't it? Talking could do anything, in his eyes. And it did too much.
Frozensky rolled over so her back was facing the entrance. "At least everyone's outside now," she mumbled to herself, her eyes starting to drift closed. A moment later, she was asleep again, her paws twitching every now and then.

Thornkit nodded slightly. "How can I not think about her? I see Frozenshard with Shardkit, and when you have your kits, I'll see you with them. That is what is sad." the kit said, trying to hold back tears. "I'm sorry Swifteyes, I just don't think I can relate to you. At least your mother was kind to you. I never knew my father, and my mother tried to kill me. The only kindness I had was my brother, but everything good that happens always seems to go bad. I guarentee my mother isn't dead, and she will come back for me, wanting to get rid of me, either that or she thinks I am already dead." the kit couldn't take it anymore and dashed out of the nursery. "I'm sorry." was the words he spoke before leaving. He didn't want to get close to anyone, they would just die like his father and brother.

Swifteyes let the sadness flow into her irises. Why couldn't Thornkit understand that not everything was the same? Cats can be nice, life can be happy. It was pointless to block out everything and to make such depressing assumptions. She hoped he wouldn't turn out like Brokenfang. The poor warrior dropped his emotions. Sighing, Swifteyes looked down at her stomach. She didn't like the look of this swollen...bubble of sorts hanging down from her body. In the end she knew it was worth it but without Sealtooth she wouldn't be as happy as she could be.

Lightwind padded cautiously up to the Shadowclan camp entrance. The she-cat's paws worked the ground anxiously, and her eyes were flooded with concern and fear. A small leaf-packaged amount of herbs were at her mouth; Borage Leaves, Poppy Seeds, Marigold, and Feverfew. The black feline dropped it by her forepaws, hoping that these strange cats would see them, and realise she wasn't here for a fight. Large brown and green eyes stared expectantly at the camp, ready for some cat to catch Lightwind's unfamiliar scent. She turned her head around slightly, keeping an eye on the bushes. 'Good' The rogues had not followed the Ebony pelted she-cat. Little did they know that the usual healer of the forest beyond clan territories was about to step into a completely different world, and they'd never see her as the same cat again.

Brokenfang leaped up, not caring if anyone noticed his movements in the shadows. He pulled his lips back over his teeth in a snarl. His nose had immediately detected the unfamiliar smell, no, stench of a rogue cat coming to the ShadowClan camp. Sprinting out the camp entrance he eyed the she-cat who stood before him. Ignoring the herbs that lay at her paws he spoke, hackles raised. "You have some nerve approaching this camp so closely, rogue!" He yowled, ready to spring at the cat if she put up a fight.
Swifteyes let terror flow into her eyes. A rogue cat? What if more than one came? She looked around for Thornkit. "Thornkit?" She called out the little tom's name. "Thornkit, we should get back into the nursery." She hoped he wasn't frightened or that he wouldn't do anything rash.

Lightwind stared at this new tomcat with a calm gaze. She raised a paw, and in full view of the ferocious clan cat, sheathed her claws. "I have not come to fight or try to take over your territory."The she-cat's voice was trembling, along with her tail. "I wish to speak to your leader. I repeat again, I am not here to cause any harm to you or the clan with which you live." Lightwind was now shaking from the paws upwards. This wasn't how it was supposed to happen. Everything was going wrong. Her chance of a safe life working with herbs and healing to truly help was within a kitstep of grasp, and yet teetering on the edge of the highest mountain. The Ebony pelted feline shoved the herbs closer to the tomcat as a sign of complete peace, along with flattening herself to the ground with paws tucked underneath her body.

The word caught her ear like that of a gunshot. Gingerpaw's eyes flicked out the exit of the apprentice's den into camp. Molepaw didn't let up, keeping her sister pinned down. The orange she-cat purred. "Hey, there's a commotion in camp." she paused. "Let me go and I'll go find out what it is." Her expression was a cocky smile, challenging the other cat. Molepaw hissed, and got off Gingerpaw, slinking out of the den in defeat. She then caught an unfamiliar smell, and flattened her ears, feeling her fur starting to tingle nervously. Her sister was right out behind her, and the ginger-colored she-cat curled up her tail and hissed. "How dare she intrude into our camp! Who does she think she is! And what is that lump of leaves she's carrying? Probably poison!" Gingerpaw spat. Molepaw looked at the serene expression on her face, though, and relaxed. "I don't think she means any harm, Gingerpaw." she mewed. "You're so stupid. Everyone knows when rogues attack, they pretend to be friends, then they attack!" "I don't think--" "Shut up! I can't believe I'm even related to you!"
Molepaw looked at her paws. She wished she wasn't related to Gingerpaw, either. In fact, she wished she wasn't even born. She thought herself a waste of feline life, and that she should have been a normal cat, not a mole cat. Then she remembered something her father told her. 'Don't mistreat loners and rogues if they don't want a fight. They may just want shelter, so hear them out before you make conclusions. Remember, I was a loner once...' The she-cat glared at her sister. Does her sister even remember what Blackclaw told them?!

Thornkit had been sulking in a corner far away from the nursery. Why did he have to be like that? He was about to go out of camp, without telling anyone until the word rouge was heard. The first instinct the tom had was anger, his mother was a rouge, she was the one who had hurt him. The tom let out a hiss of annoyance. But the sound of Swifteyes voice awoke him from his thinking. Without hesitating the little tom ran to the she-cat. "I'll protect you." he said with a smile. When he caught sight of the rouge, his eyes were filled with anger and rage, and the hair on his pelt and tail were on end. He wasn't going to let anything hurt Swifteyes as long as he could do anything about it. The memories of his mother was only fueling his hatred even more.
