Snowstorm didn't like that she had just been ignored, but instead of making a huge fuss over it, she ironically ignored it. Her blue eyes watched Swifteyes and Shadedstar, she would have said something, but she was still a little upset. She finally spoke up as Swifteyes went elsewhere. "Anything you need me to do today?" she asked, looking at Shadedstar. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once again, young Thornkit was awakened by the noise of other cats. Everyone was so loud so early in the morning. He padded out of the nursery and looked around the camp. It was all so boring. There was no one his age to play with, and nothing seemed to enertain him much anymore. "Why me?" he groaned, muttering a few other words under his breath.

Swifteyes frowned a little then walked back over to the nursery. "Good morning Thornkit." She greeted the little tom cheerily. "Don't worry, there will be more kits in the nursery for you too play with soon. Plus, Shardkit is there too."

Thornkit was a bit suprised and jumped when he heard Swifteye's voice. He had not expected to see anyone, much less actually say something to any cat for a while. "Morning." he replied. He didn't understand why the she-cat was so cheerful so early in the morning. "I know, but Shardkit is a lot younger than me. I don't want to hurt him when I play. And plus, I am almost six moons old, so most likely before any kits are born, I will be an apprentice." The young kit seemed so sure of himself as he spoke. That was a habit that was to the point of being unbreakable. "How are you doing?" Thornkit asked, looking at Swifteyes.

Shadedstar cocked his head. He wasn't quite used to other cats asking him what to do even though he had been deputy for seasons. He thought for a moment before realising that no patrol was organized yet. "You could lead the dawn patrol. If you want to of course." That must have made him look good.

"I have a feeling the kits are coming soon ((Panic: If people were willing to roleplay them/ a medicine cat ))." Swifteyes smiled. "Well, I'm sure tossing a moss ball around won't hurt Shardkit. You should talk to him about it. I'm doing great, thanks for asking."

Snowstorm blinked her blue eyes and nodded. Why he said the last part of the sentence she had no idea. Maybe there was just too much on his mind. She shrugged the thought off and then smiled. "Of course I will, are there any certain cats you wish for me to take?" she questioned.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thornkit looked at Swifteyes curiously. He didn't understand queens, how could one be so nice like Swifteyes, but another be ready to take a slice out of cats, like Frozensky. Yes, he made judgements of cats whenever they spoke to him, and he had inherited from his mother one thing he hated. No matter if the cat turned out to be nice later on, his judgement of a cat, if mean to him at first, would be that they would always be mean. "I guess you are right. That could enertain me for a bit." he murmered looking to the ground. "Your welcome, have you thought of what you are going to name your kits?" and there he went asking questions again.
"The nursery is going to get too crowded!" complained Frozensky to herself, listening to all the talk of kits. "It's bad enough in here with one other kit, and that Thornkit is an odd one! Swifteyes' kits better be a bit more... well, more... more better!"
Shardkit rolled over on his back and stared up at the roof. He kind of wished there was no one else in the nursery - and that included his mother.
"I have a few ideas." Swifteyes replied. "I know I'll name one of the kits after their father. I hope at least one of them will look like him." She paused not sure what to say for a little while. "I'll pray to StarClan that one of my kits will turn out like you. You're such a nice kit, Thornkit. I'm sure you'll turn out to be a wonderful warrior." She smiled a the little tom, hiding the sorrow of losing her mate.
Thornkit listened eagerly. Talking to another cat was much more enertaining than trying to find something to do. "Name one after their father? That sounds like something nice. It is really kind for you to do that." he said blinking up at the she-cat. "I bet there will be one that looks like him, and one that looks like you and the other two a mixture of you both!" he exclaimed. He, of course, was just playing around, how was he suppose to know what kits would look like before they were born? When she mentioned him being nice he beamed with joy. "That really is something that I never thought I would hear, especially with my background and everything." he shuddered as he thought of his mother. An idea struck the young tom. "Maybe when I am a warrior, I can apprentice one of your kits! That would be awesome."
Shadedstar rounded on Frozensky, small fires burning in his eyes. "You've no right to be so disrespectful. I better not hear you talking like that again. I wont have cats being rude to their own clanmates in this clan." He almost referred to it as his clan, but it wouldn't be a clan without any of it's other members.
Frozensky stuck her nose up in the air. "I was simply making an observation," she said disdainfully. "I'm sorry if it upset you. I wasn't aware that we couldn't think poorly of anyone." She dipped her head slightly, making it hard to tell whether the gesture was a mockery or not.
Shardkit's ears perked up slightly. Now THIS was much more interesting than talking about some kits to be born.
"I should hope so!" Swifteyes exclaimed. "You'd make an excellent mentor. You're personality would fit wonderfully for the job." She smiled, the uplifting conversation temporarily removing some of the pain in her heart.
Brokenfang still sat alone, eying the camp. Most cats were having nice, happy, and friendly conversations. How he wished none of them would invite him to join in.
Molepaw sighed. There was nothing to do, because her and Gingerpaw were the only apprentices. And Gingerpaw was all, 'stop digging your stupid holes and act like a cat for once,' and 'why do you think they named you MOLEkit?' I wish there was something to do around here. No one to play with. she thought, and noticed Brokenfang. She padded to him and dipped her head respectfully before mewing, "Hello, Brokenfang."
Gingerpaw stuck her nose up, and rolled her eyes at Molepaw. So immature. I hope some other cat my age will show up, one that doesn't act like a kit. she thought, licking her paw daintily.
Brokenfang merely nodded in response to Molepaw's greeting. He had better things to do than talk to an apprentice. He should have better things to do...Perhaps he'd consult Crystalstream to see if any patrols were needed.
Him make an excellent mentor? No, not after what he had been through. Thornkit was actually suprised someone would say that. And his personality being perfect for the job? Now that was something he never thought he would hear. Was it because his mother was so horrible to him that he had a 'perfect personality for the job'? Or was it something else? The kit would never know. "Maybe." he replied. "I don't know about having a perfect personality for it. I would be scared I would turn into my mother." the little tom sighed.
