A red leaf fell through a hole in the roof of the barn. "Autumn..." A she-cat mumbled. Other cats had used the term "leaf-fall" according to her sister. The two had learned and grown to use the term "autumn". "Irènè?" Another voice called out. "Nia...where have you been this time?" Irènè replied. "A-ah..." The other she-cat stumbled to find words. "I was just looking around..." Irènè grunted. "Again?" She asked, her voice holding annoyance. "There are wild cats out there. They'll attack you if you get any closer to them." A small black she-cat stepped closer to her sister. "But I'll be nice to them! I won't hurt them or steal their food!" She complained. "We can be friends!" Irènè narrowed her light blue eyes. "Don't you dare trust them to be friendly!" She snapped. "They won't care. We're just outside of their territory. Nia, if you go to far you'll get hurt."
"I'll be fine Irènè!" Nia cried to her sister. "You can't stop me from being curious." She turned around and stormed out of the barn. "Nia!" Irènè yowled, running after the amber eyed she-cat. Nia was already walking down a path littered with autumn leaves. "Be back before sunset..." She sighed, turning around to go back into the barn.
Nia turned around to look at Irènè very briefly. She nodded before breaking out into a sprint that led her to land filled with gorse and heather.

"Jrana, are you sure we should spy on these strangers? They may discovor us and be angry." Came a soft whisper. "Shhh." Was the only reply Chara got. Jranahi and Charairya were watching the two cats as Nia slipped away. Jranahi motioned for Chara to come away from the hole they had been using to peep through. "I'll follow this Nia. You stay and keep an eye on the Irènè. I'm curious to find out who these wild cats they talk of are. Maybe they can help us." Without another word, the white cat dissapeared after Nia. Chara shook her head. "You'd better be careful, Jrana. I don't know if I could do this on my own." She returned to the peep whole to watch.

Irènè narrowed her eyes when she thought she heard voices. She turned around, glaring at the empty space. "Who's there?!" She yowled. You might call Irènè paranoid, but it the end it'd be worth it. If there were cats there they might go after Nia...Nia was all alone and she couldn't protect herself...Nia! What if one of the cats went after Nia? What would they do to her? "If there's any one there," Irènè continued. "Keep your paws off of Nia or I'll kill you!" Her light blue eyes darted around, desperate to find any sort of enemy that might be there.

Chara let out a laugh and squeezed through the small hole. Jranahi would probably mad if he found out she had revealed herself, but she couldn't help it. "Chill out. Jrana wouldn't hurt a fly. Well, maybe a fly, but trust me, he's too much of a softie to attack any cat. My name is Charairya."

Irènè refused to let her guard down. "Did this, Jrana go after Nia? If so, what does he want with her?" The black she-cat stepped closer to Charairya. "Where do you come from? Outside of the clan territory?" She studied Charairya, head to paw. The she-cat didn't seem to be too much of a threat, but Irènè could never be sure. She only briefly pondered whether she should introduce herself or not.

"So," Chara said, ignoring her questions, "Your name is Irènè, yes? And you don't belong to these wild clan groups? Tell me. Do you know many others?" The black cat paced around the barn, inspecting every inch of it. She noticed the many mice that seemed to have no fear of showing themselves. It was warm in here with the walls keeping out the wind and the hay creating a comfortable bedding. It would make a good home for many cats...

"There are clan cats that live in their respective territories." Irènè replied. "If you cross their borders they hold the right to attack you. And don't think you're safe as long as you're outside of their territories. There are badgers, foxes and rogue cats that will eat you alive and they are not easy to deal with. What business do you have here anyway? I will not allow any other cats to sleep in this barn."

"Please, settle down. I've no want for shelter. And there's no need to worry about us. We can take care of ourselves." Chara knew she hadn't meant what she said like that, but she was handling things her own way. "Now, who are these clan cats? How many are there and do you know them personally?" She took a step towards Irènè. "You will tell me."

Irènè took a step forward as well. "Why should I?" She growled, glaring at Charairya. "If you're so curious about the clan cats why don't you go and talk to them. I will not feed you useless information. Why did this Jrana or whatever go after Nia? Answer me!"

Charairya gave her an icy stare. "Why should I?" She said darkly, mimicing Irènè. She turned her back on her and sat down. "I don't have time for this nonsense. I should just get Jrana and leave."

"You should." Irènè replied. "Nia and I have nothing to do with the clan cats and we're going to keep it that way. If you have business with the clans, don't involve us. I'm going to find Nia. When I return, you should be gone without any intention to come back." Irènè sprinted out of the barn, following Nia's scent.

Charairya grinned and followed Irènè out of the barn. She would make this cat cooperate whether it was done kindly or not. Double checking, she sniffed around Nia's scent for Jranahi's. He had deffinantly followed her so she was heading in the right direction. Now they could settle this together.

Irènè stormed into the barn, Nia trailing silently behind her. "I'm s-" Nia began, but Irènè cut her off. "You deliberately disobeyed me. I told you not to go into clan territory. I told you not to try to make friends with strangers." Irènè glared at her sister. Nia felt as if her blue eyes were burning through her fur. "I'm sorry! But I'm just not like you!" Nia replied, tears welling in her eyes. "You'll get killed!" Irènè yowled. Silence fell between the two. "If you're so happy with those cats then why don't you go with them..." Irènè muttered sarcastically. "Maybe I will!" Nia turned her back, ready to leave the barn.

Jranahi had followed them quietly. He was curious about what would happen to Nia. He listened as Irènè shouted at her. It made him feel guilty. After all, he was the one that had approached Nia. He never meant to get her in trouble. "I'm sorry." He whispered. "Perhaps there was a reason we they dissapeared. Maybe we were just getting in the way." He sprinted off, back to Charairya. Nia sighed then sprinted out of the barn. She had no idea where she was going but right now she didn't want to go back. She stopped, the barn out of sight. She was only a few rabbit hops away from WindClan territory. "If I go with Jranahi I'll just be a nuisance..." She mumbled to herself. "The clans won't take me in. I have no where to go..."
