Nia broke into a sprint as she explored the open moor. She loved the territory, everything about it. It seemed so wide and free. It felt as if the air was fresher and the breezes cooler. The smell was unique, she guessed it was the smell of clan cats. The gorse and heather probably seemed normal to the cats who lived here, but each separate plant she rested her eyes on seemed new and exciting even if they were the same. Her heart felt light as she spun around a few times, forgetting the world around her. Right now, the clan cats didn't exist. It felt like just her, and nature.

Jranahi followed the she-cat silently. After a while he became confused. What was she doing? As far as he could tell she was just running around just to run around. He stopped after a while. "This is pointless." He muttered to himself. "Cats here are strange... But I have to speak with them." His white fur dissapeared as he used his knowledge of spying to blend into the bushes. Even though he was white, he couldn't be seen against the natural colors of the forest.

Nia stopped in her tracks. She felt as if she heard another cat...She took in the scents around her. Well, that was useless. Nia never trained her senses, so she wasn't sure how to pick out different ones. She shrugged, and walked further into the territory.

Jranahi followed her. He couldn't help but smile. "She isn't very observant is she." He mumbled to himself. "I should be easy to spot against these browns."

Nia came to a stop once more. Always take a look around you! Someone could be following you and you won't know it! You could be getting yourself lost or deeper into clan territory and you won't know it! Just stop and look for a few moments! Irènè's words rang through her mind. Her sister was right...Nia's eyes darted around her. The looked to and fro until they finally rested on a white pelt. Her amber eyes widened in shock as she took a step backward. "Wh-who's there?" She tried to yowl, although it came out quieter than she wanted. She gulped, afraid that she was going to get attacked again. Then what would Irènè say? Nia was a bit far from the barn...Irènè might not get here in time to save her...

The cat was sneaking up on an unsuspecting rabbit when something moved in the corner of his eye. He flattened himself against the ground and squinted to see some cats, ones he didn't know, running freely on WindClan territory. That just made the young cat mad. Rainpaw decided not to give out his location, and hurried to a heather bush, sneaking through it so that he could jump out if they came any further. The tom breathed quickly and silently, eyes fixed on them. He had never seen them before, and decided they must have been loners. He hated loners. Rainpaw noticed she had spotted another cat. No matter, I'll make her turn her attention to me. he thought, and sprang from the bush, hissing. "Who are you and what are you doing on WindClan territory?" he yowled, unsheathing his claws and showing his teeth.

Jranahi was just about to reply to Nia when Rainpaw appeared. "Windclan you say? You wouldn't happen to be one of those wild cat clans would you? You are young. Is there anyone a bit older around that I can talk to?" He cocked his head and took a step forward, bowing his head respectfully. "Forgive me. I start going on without introducing myself. I am Jranahi from the clan on the mountain." He glanced over at Nia. "I didn't mean to frighten you. I just hoped you would lead me to something interesting."

"N-no..please!" Nia cried out. "Don't hurt me! I-I have nothing to do with your clan and I didn't mean to disturb you. I'll leave, I promise. I won't be a nuisance. Irènè will get mad at me. She'll yell at me, so you don't have to. I won't come back. I'll be more careful next time! I'm not a threat to your clan, we could be friends! I could help your clan! Just..just don't hurt me or Irènè. Or..um..Jranahi..I don't think he wants to hurt you either!" The words flowed from her mouth faster than she could think.

Jranahi let out a loud laugh and stared over at Nia. "No need to come up with all those excuses. I'm pretty sure he understood after 'I'll leave.'" He shook his head. If cats around here got so nervous so easily, maybe they should just skip over this land and find others.

Rainpaw remained stern. "So be it." he spat, and turned his back to her and raised his tail high in victory, returning to his hunting. Hmph. he thought. That was a huge waste of time. I wanted to practice my fighting on real cats...

"I...I guess your right." Nia replied, letting out a weak laugh. "Oh, I guess I didn't properly introduce myself either...I'm Nia, from the barn not too far from here..So, you said you're from the mountains? What was it like there? Why are you here now?" The black she-cat didn't know much of the mountains, or of Jranahi, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to be friends!

"It was absolutely beautiful up on our mountain. I'm afraid I cannot tell you much without permission from my leader, but I'm here for help. Most of our cats have been taken by the twolegbeasts. I fear for my leaders life for she dissapeared with the rest. My friend and I have come here in search of kind hearted cats who will aid us in the search and fight for our freedom." Jranahi paused for a moment then glanced up at the sky. "It's much warmer here than it was back home. Is it always like this?" He shook his fur as if he expected the warmth to just fly away. "I'll help!" Nia answered enthusiastically. "Well, I would. But I'm not very strong so I probably wouldn't be able to...And I don't think the clan cats would jump on the idea. It doesn't effect them and it might bring trouble to them. They also have some sort of religious system...StarClan I think." She paused, thinking about the weather. "It's not always like this. It's autumn, well the beginning of autumn. It'll get colder until it becomes winter. Then snow falls and prey is scarce for the clans. I know some of them try to hunt in the barn because it is still bountiful with mice. Irene always chases them away....But it gets warmer again in spring and then it gets a bit hot in summer. The weather changes a lot. It's kind of amazing isn't it? I bet it was really cold in the-"
"Nia!" Irènè yowled, running up to her. "Are you alright? Who is this?" She looked over at Jranahi, glaring at him. "Is it Jrana or whatever?" The she-cat looked behind her to see if Charairya had followed or not. "There's another one of them. She might have followed me so she and her partner could leave. They're not staying here for much longer."
"Irènè, no!" Nia pleaded. "Please don't attack them. I'm fine, Jranahi wouldn't hurt anyone. I can tell! He's nice! We should at least let them stay in the barn for one night. They came all the way from the mountains. It must've been a long and hard journey. They probably need a sheltered place to just stay and rest. It might rain tonight." She looked up at the sky. Dark clouds were rolling in, from the direction of the ThunderClan territory.

Charairya skidded to a halt behind Irènè, half expecting the she-cat to turn and attack her. She lowered her head in greating to Jranahi who responded with the same movement. "Chara, you weren't supposed to show yourself to her." "Look who's talking." She replied with a grin. "I couldn't help it. She noticed I was there." Jrana showed his teath to her, "What happened to your training? Was all of that work for nothing? You were taught as a spy and warrior yet you're noticed while observing." Chara tried to hide her guilt but lowering her head further. "I was careless, that's all." She glanced at Nia. "Nia, thank you for the offer, but we waste even a night. We must find someone to aid us." Jranahi said quietly.

Nia nodded sadly. Jranahi seemed so nice, she wished he could stay longer so they could be friends. She turned to look at her sister. "Irènè, maybe you could help!" She suggested hopefully. "The lived with other cats in the mountains, and they need help. You're strong Irènè, you can help! Maybe you and the clan cats.."
Irènè shook her head. "No." She stated. "I refuse to waste my time with cats I don't know. They should be able to help themselves. Besides, the clan cats won't bother. It's not their problem and it doesn't effect them. They just care about their prey and their territory. Speaking of which, we're on their territory. We must leave before we run into trouble."
"Irènè!" Nia cried. "Don't say that, please. That's really mean..Please help them. They're nice cats I know they are...Irènè!" Tears welled in her eyes as Irènè simply ignored her and started to walk off. She turned back to the mountain cats. "I'm sorry, I really am. I wish I could've helped..." She paused, not wanting to say the parting words. "Good bye..." The she-cat looked down, feeling ashamed then slowly turned and hurried to catch up with Irènè. She looked over her shoulder once, and tried to smile but it just didn't work.
